DISC- en Drijfverenmethode

Your Personal DISC and Motivators profile

What is the DISC-Method?

DISC is an objective way of mapping a person's natural and adapted behavioural profile. The model shows how you behave, i.e. how you act. But also how you communicate with others. DISC analysis measures the following preferred behavioural styles

  • How you deal with problems and challenges (D from Dominant);
  • How you manage to get others to agree with you (I from Influence);
  • How you deal with change and pace (S from Stability);
  • How you deal with established rules and procedures (C of Conformism).

There is no single preferred style: in practice there will always be a mixture of styles. How these styles relate to each other can provide important insights for the coachee or employee. Once you have an understanding of these behaviours, you can adjust them as necessary to be more effective.

What is a DISC-analysis?

Before the DISC analysis is created, an individual completes the DISC questionnaire. In the DISC analysis, you receive the results of the scores for each DISC style. Additionally, the analysis illustrates how the DISC scores relate to the basic style (the behavior closest to your natural tendencies) and the response style (how one behaves in a different situation or environment, such as at work).

A DISC analysis provides insight into:

    •    One’s own behavior and various behavioral preferences

    •    How one’s behavior is perceived by others

    •    Which behaviors are already effective and what one’s strengths are

    •    How one can adapt to increase effectiveness

    •    How one can further develop themselves

What are Motivators?

Your drivers determine the direction you choose; they motivate you to take action. Motivators can change during different periods of your life. When you have insight into your drivers, it becomes easier to make decisions that align with your inner motivation. Drivers uniquely inspire action and therefore have a significant impact on behavior. In the Drivers analysis, we identify seven different types of drivers:

    •    Aesthetic driver

    •    Economic driver

    •    Individualistic driver

    •    Power driver

    •    Altruistic driver

    •    Regulatory driver

    •    Theoretical driver

What is a Motivators Analysis?

A Motivators (or Drivers) Analysis provides insight into an individual’s personal drivers, revealing the underlying motivators behind their behavior and the proportion in which these drivers are present. Understanding your drivers clarifies what energizes you and, conversely, what doesn’t. It highlights which drivers you disengage from and may even resist. Each driver has its strengths, pitfalls, and areas for development, all of which are mapped out in the analysis.

The analysis briefly explains the nature of each driver, uncovering valuable qualities in both high and low scores, as well as pitfalls that can be addressed in a focused manner. There is no right or wrong in the analysis. Based on the results, the strengths of an individual’s drivers become apparent, enabling them to work on their development areas or pitfalls. The outcome? Greater clarity in making targeted choices that naturally motivate, energize, and provide a sense of fulfillment.

A drivers analysis provides insight into:

    •    Your motivators

    •    Your key drivers

    •    Your strengths, areas for development, and pitfalls

    •    What drains your energy

    •    What you have an aversion to

    •    Your ideal work environment

DISC-analysis and Motivators analysis

  • Are you unsure about what you really want or where your talents lie?
  • Do you want to improve your collaboration skills?

When you work from your talents, you perform at your best! With the DISC and Motivators analyses, you gain insight into your talents and intrinsic motivation. That works!

What does gaining insight into DISC and Motivators bring you?

  • When you keep clashing with a colleague and want to improve your collaboration.

  • When you experience frustrations or tensions at home or in your sports club, the communication isn’t flowing well, and you want to change that.

  • When you’re unsure about what you truly want but are eager to take the next step in your career.

  • When you want to know what your talents are, what motivates you deep inside, and what truly suits you

  • When you want to work and live with more ease.

The DISC analysis primarily focuses on communication styles and preferences in interactions with others, while the Motivators analysis delves into the underlying motivations and values that drive a person’s behavior. You can complete them separately, but it is often beneficial to combine both analyses to get a more comprehensive picture of someone’s motivations and behavior.

DISC- and Motivators analyses are succesfully used in:

Leadership programs

In many large leadership programs, the DISC behavioral analysis is a fundamental part of the insight phase. The DISC analysis is mostly used in combination with one or more individual coaching sessions, during which the results are discussed in the appropriate context.

Management Development

To support advancing management, the DISC behavioral analysis serves as a crucial starting point in guidance. The practical reports provide the right tools to refer back to later in the coaching process.

Team Effectiveness

Where colleagues hinder each other, feel unseen or unsupported, and struggle to collaborate, the DISC behavioral analysis makes a world of difference. Suddenly, it becomes clear that differences between people are not just frustrating but actually quite useful. Witnessing the birth of synergy is truly fascinating.

Individual careermanagement

Thousands of people have already started their career development journey with the DISC behavioral analysis. It’s so much easier to build when you understand the foundation of the DISC model, as well as your weak spots. This makes the career “structure” so much stronger that others can benefit from it as well.

Coaching

The pain points in a career or development path can be effortlessly uncovered with the DISC behavioral analysis. By examining not only talents (behavior) but also the deeper underlying motivators, the path to the future becomes quickly and clearly defined.

Professional development

Just as we wouldn’t give a rabbit swimming lessons or teach a monkey to fly, we aim to develop people only in the areas where they excel and are naturally suited. The DISC behavioral analysis provides a clear picture of this, offering guidance toward the most fulfilling development and growth.
